Frequently asked
Questions we get
before the first event
If yours isn't here, hello@mintance.com reaches all five of us.
Product
How long does it take to see data?
Minutes. Drop the script tag in, deploy, and the first event usually lands in about a second — the live stream shows it arriving. Out of the box you get pageviews (including SPA route changes), time on page and external link clicks, before you name a single custom event.
Do you sample events at high volume?
Never. Every event you send is stored and queried in full. Sampling is where numbers stop being trustworthy, and a number you don't trust isn't worth the dashboard it sits on.
How do I send events?
The web tracker is a single ~13 kB script with no dependencies, loaded with defer so it never blocks or shifts your page. Anything server-side posts the same event schema straight to our HTTP API, so a signup from the browser and a signup from your backend are the same event.
Can I import events from my current tool?
Not self-serve yet. We do backfills by hand for enterprise customers — original timestamps preserved, so retention curves and cohorts don't restart on your migration date. Write to hello@mintance.com and we'll scope it.
Data & privacy
Full detail on storage, access and compliance status lives on the security page.
Do you use cookies?
Two, both first-party on your own site: one that recognizes a returning visitor, one that groups a visit into a session. The Mintance app itself sets none — your sign-in lives in local storage. Both cookies are listed with their lifetimes on the privacy page.
Who owns the data I send?
You do. We process it to run the service and for nothing else — no resale, no advertising networks, no training a model on your users. Export it or delete a whole project whenever you like.
Can I avoid sending personal data at all?
You can. Nothing personal is collected unless you attach it — send an opaque external ID instead of an email and funnels, cohorts and retention all still work. Visitors who set _mnt_ignore in their browser's local storage stop being tracked entirely.
Beta & billing
What does early access actually mean?
We onboard a handful of teams a week so we can sit with each one. You get the whole product free, a direct line to the people building it, and features shaped by what you hit first.
When does pricing start, and what will it cost?
Not yet decided. The shape we're heading for is on the pricing page; when it goes live you'll get 30 days' notice and a founding discount for having been here early.
What if you shut down?
Fair question for a five-person team. Export is available on every plan from day one, and if we ever wound down you'd get 90 days' notice and a full raw export — not a support ticket.
Company
Who is behind Mintance?
Five people who kept rebuilding the same funnel query at previous jobs. We're hiring two roles.
How do I get support?
Email hello@mintance.com. During beta it's answered by whoever wrote the thing you're asking about, usually the same day.
